FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (January 27, 2016) – AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has been invited to present four technical presentations and chair a conference session at the 20th annual Components for Military & Space Electronics Conference & Exhibition (CMSE 2016), which will take place March 6–9, 2016 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Los Angeles.
Recognized as the most comprehensive conference dedicated to successful practices for the use of both military and COTS components in military and space systems, CMSE addresses topics including: electronic components, testing, reliability, and supply chain, and emphasizes new technology and design practices. CMSE 2016 will feature an intensive two-day-long, 17-tutorial training session about the impact of components on systems reliability; five additional technical training sessions, two of which will feature AVX presentations, and one of which will be chaired by AVX Fellow and member of the CMSE Program Committee, Ron Demcko; and two days of exhibition: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8 and 9.
“We are delighted to have once again been invited to contribute to the technical training sessions at CMSE,” said AVX Fellow, Ron Demcko. “CMSE is created by engineers for engineers and product management, and is dedicated to sharing the latest information about military and space components, and collaborating with top component and design engineers, engineering and product managers, and quality assurance personnel and procurement executives to address and solve design and deployment issues pertaining to these critical devices. As such, it is an honor and a privilege to be invited to participate in so many facets of such an important, industry-shaping event.”
Sessions 1, 2, and 3 will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, and will begin with a welcome and introduction delivered by Leon Hamiter of CTI Inc. Session 1 will be a two-part capacitor reliability tutorial. Session 2 will address passive components selection and application, and will feature two AVX presentations: Session 2.2, “Tantalum Capacitor Alternatives to Mil Spec QMLs,” delivered by Marc Beaulieu and Brian Brunette, and Session 2.3, “Base Metal Ceramic Capacitor Design and Manufacturing for Space and Military Applications,” delivered by John Marshall. Session 3: New Technology and Issues will kick off with Ron Demcko’s presentation, “The Emergence of Laminated RF Passive Components,” and will also feature Chris Reynolds’ “Advances in Polymer Tantalum Capacitors and their Applications” (Session 3.4).
Wednesday, March 9, 2016 will begin with Session 4: IC Packaging Issues and Applications, and will conclude with Session 5: Obsolescence and Counterfeit Avoidance, which will be chaired by AVX Fellow, Ron Demcko.
