Born in Oberstdorf in 1997, Günther began his racing career in karts at the age of 10. After three years, the German driver progressed to the world of open-wheel racing in 2011 in the Formula BMW Talent Cup.

Barnard, from Norwich, England, entered single-seater racing in 2020. Since then, he has become the 2022 ADAC Formula 4 runner-up and the 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship runner-up.
